Profile

Mark has three decades of legal costs experience having worked in this area of law since leaving Her Majesty’s Armed Forces in 1990. He has vast experience in Bill preparation and costs negotiations.

Prior to joining Elite Law in 2012, Mark ran and maintained his own legal costs firm for over ten years, specialising in both Legal Aid and Inter Partes costs. Mark has extensive experience in preparing claims for costs in immigration, housing, finance, care and family matters (both in private and public law).

Mark also undertakes his own advocacy at Detailed Assessments and places a particular emphasis on client care and maintaining good interpersonal relationships with clients. He also has excellent knowledge of uploading new claims on the CCMS system implemented by the Legal Aid Agency.

Mark is a keen sports fan and has been an FA qualified referee since 1994, refereeing in both men’s and women’s football leagues. The highlight of his career to date was being afforded the opportunity to referee at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in April 2018. Mark is also a keen (if not excellent) golfer and enjoys the theatre.
